As we come to the end of the year and look forward to a new year, I think about purging the old to make room for the new. I like to set aside a few hours to put my calendar together, incorporating events, birthdays, holidays, etc.
New Beginnings
Along with new beginnings, I think about getting rid of the things that no longer serve me or my focus. One of the tasks I perform is purging the medicine cabinet by removing all the out-of-date medicines (most towns have places to put things that shouldn’t go into the landfills). I also look at the makeup, mascara, and skin care items that are old need to be thrown out.
In addition, this year I am looking at my makeup brushes that have deteriorated. I don’t always toss out my brushes, but many of mine are years old and it is time for new ones. If your brushes don’t need replaced yet, you may be able to wash yours and bring new life back for another year. Use baby shampoo or a mild cleanser and lay them out to dry thoroughly.
Looking back with gratitude
Looking back at the year, I am reminded of all of the blessings that I have received. I am so grateful for all that life has given, the good and the not-so-good, as everything has taught me a lesson.
Thank you for an awesome year! Onward to new beginnings! Blessings!
