Skin Care for Men

Yes! Skin care is for men too! 

We’ve talked a lot about how important the skin is for protecting our bodies, and how it purges toxins from our bodies. Our skin is so important. SOooo skin care should be important for everyone too! While women tend to care more about taking care of their skin than men, men need skin care too. 

But I also recognize that MOST men want a quick and easy skin care routine. They want to “wash and go,” if anything at all. (Kudos to you if you are spending extra time on your skin, guys!)

In this frame of mind let’s jump into 3 super simple ways for men to perfect their skin care routine.

 

1. Find a simple, impactful, and go-to skin care routine. 

We want to start with products that are EASY and simple. We all need to clean, moisturize and protect our skin every day. (We can always add something else such as a serum if one wants or needs to kick it up a notch.) 

That boils down to:

  • Cleanser
  • Moisturizer
  • Sunscreen

 

Cleansers: I cannot recommend Eminence Charcoal cleanser, enough for this task. Why is that? It is formulated with charcoal, malachite gemstones and blue matcha. This supercharged purifying cleanser transforms from a gel to an exfoliating lather to wash away impurities and reveal a balanced complexion. 

Results:

  • Skin is left invigorated and looking energized
  • Pores are refined and minimized
  • Excess oil is removed from the surface of the skin

 

Moisturizer: Rosehip Whip Moisturizer is my “highly recommended” here. Rosehip is known for toning, soothing and regulating complexion. Combined with the moisturizing power of carrot, this moisturizer will help improve the appearance of sensitive and over-reactive skin. 

Results: 

  • Refreshed and improved appearance in skin tone
  • Reduced discomfort and appearance of irritation
  • Complexion appears moisturized and revitalized
  • Skin appears light, velvety

Sunscreen:  We all need sun protection every day! The sun is one of the biggest factors when talking about skin aging. This is true for men and women. 

 

2. Drink your water! 

This one probably seems simple, but taking care of your skin starts inside your body. You should drink half to a whole ounce of water for every pound you weigh. So a person who weighs 200 lbs should drink between 100 and 200 ounces of water every single day. 

Like most of us, you probably aren’t getting enough water. It’s time to start working on this habit. Start with a smaller goal, and ramp up over time. Water will cleanse your body of toxins, and a well-hydrated body works better overall. You’ll feel the difference!

 

3. BREATHE! 

I promised my tips would be simple!! Being intentional with your breath can change so much about your health. 

  • Breathe in for 3 seconds
  • Hold for 3 seconds
  • Breathe out for 3 seconds

Do this cycle (3 in, 3 hold, 3 out) at least 9 times (or increase by adding 9 cycles again and again). Always breathe in multiples of 9. Spend a little time every day breathing and increasing your cycles by multiples of 9, and you’ll see the benefits in your skin too.
